Lasered leatherette patches can be customized by colour, shape, size, artwork, and attachment method. We stock approximately 15 leatherette colours, with all options shown in our Useful Files section. Every patch is individually laser cut, allowing anything from simple circles and rectangles to highly detailed contour shapes, with virtually any logo or text.
How do we do it?
We create the patch artwork as a vector file in Corel, including both the engraved artwork and the outside cut shape. From there, we set up the leatherette on our Universal flatbed laser.
The laser engraves through the top layer of the material to expose the contrasting colour underneath, then cuts the patch to its final shape. Once the patches are finished, they can be applied either by sewing, or with permanent heated glue to hats, garments, bags, or other products depending on the job.

Wait—there’s no ink?
Nope! The laser removes the top layer of colour to reveal a contrasting layer underneath. That’s what creates the incredibly crisp, permanent-looking design—and why even very fine lines and small details can look so sharp.
Can my detailed logo actually work on a patch?
This is where lasered leatherette really shines. Fine lines, small lettering and intricate artwork that can be difficult to reproduce with embroidery can look fantastic when lasered, opening up a lot more possibilities for your logo.
Why does everyone pick rawhide?
Because although we stock lots of colours, that warm, natural leather look is overwhelmingly what customers gravitate toward. It gives you the character of a traditional leather patch while allowing us to laser incredibly clean detail into it.
How long does this take?
1-3 weeks. Production timelines begin once both your product selections and artwork have been approved. Any delays in approvals may affect your final completion date—so the sooner everything is confirmed, the sooner we can get started!
