Puff embroidery can be customized through thread colour, logo size, and stitch style. Choose from our wide range of thread colours, with traditional satin stitching for a smooth, raised finish or specialty stitch patterns for added texture. Puff works best with bold, simplified shapes, as very fine details are not suited to the foam underneath.
How do we do it?
Puff embroidery starts with digitizing the artwork specifically for foam. A regular embroidery file will not work properly because the stitching has to perforate the foam around the edges and completely cover it through the raised areas.
We produce our puff embroidery in-house on our own embroidery machines. The hat is hooped, the foam is positioned over the embroidery area, and the machine stitches through the foam to create the raised design. Once the embroidery is finished, we remove the excess foam and clean up any small pieces around the lettering.

Is puff embroidery just for baseball hats?
Not anymore. Baseball made the look iconic, but we're now using puff for golf, hockey, businesses, teams and even garments. If you want something a little bolder than traditional embroidery, puff can completely change the personality of a very simple logo.
Is all puff embroidery created equal?
Definitely not. Great puff requires specialized digitizing, the right foam, the right stitch density and very clean finishing so the foam disappears and you're left with a beautifully raised logo. It's a finicky process—and one we've spent a lot of time getting really, really good at.
How long does this take?
2-3 weeks. Production timelines begin once both your product selections and artwork have been approved. Any delays in approvals may affect your final completion date—so the sooner everything is confirmed, the sooner we can get started!
